TextOS by Lightray

TextOS

A local Android Linux runtime for Codex work.

Use your ChatGPT/Codex sign-in. TextOS does not require a separate OpenAI API key or API billing setup; OpenAI plan limits and credits still apply.

Codex can do work Run commands, inspect files, and build inside a real local Linux workspace.
No API key setup Sign in with ChatGPT/Codex instead of configuring OpenAI API credentials.
Android runtime Linux, files, WebDesk, and optional SSH/SFTP access-code tools in one app.

Local Codex runtime

TextOS gives Codex-style work a Linux environment on your Android device: files, shell commands, generated pages, and repairable runtime state.

Use your ChatGPT account

Sign in through the Codex/ChatGPT flow. TextOS is not asking you to bring an API key or manage separate pay-per-token API billing inside the app.

Local-first boundaries

Projects and runtime files live on device by default. Prompts and selected context leave the device when you intentionally use AI features.

TextOS is not an official OpenAI app. Codex and ChatGPT access, availability, usage limits, and credits are governed by your OpenAI account and plan.
